We have multiple service options. You can get started for as low as
$49.95. When you come in for your complimentary consultation we will discuss your options in detail and you can decide what works
best for you.

Is it permanent?
|
There is no laser that has received FDA clearance for a claim of permanent hair
removal. However, the LightSheer™ Diode was the first to be cleared by the
FDA for permanent hair reduction. That is defined by the FDA as 85% or greater
hair reduction. It is possible that follicles in the treated area, while not being
completely destroyed, will be sufficiently damaged to the point where they
produce only fine, light hairs that do not respond to further treatment. This is
backed up by extensive clinical studies and you should be wary of anyone who
claims otherwise.

How do I know your laser will work for me?
|
The LightSheer Diode is the only laser currently on the market that was built from
the ground up for laser hair removal. The LightSheer operates at the depth that
allows it to target melanin best. While there are several good lasers out there,
their energy reaches deeper levels under the skin, like oxygen. This means only
some of the energy targets melanin. The rest of the energy is diverted which
makes it more effective for other treatment types, like veins, rather than hair.
In addition, the LightSheer™ is proven through thermograms and other types of
tests to provide consistent pulse duration. In these tests, other laser pulses have
been shown to fluctuate dramatically, which can cause a higher level of
discomfort, more complications in the skin and require more treatments for
optimum results.

Who performs the treatments?
|
Our laser treatments are performed by (Laser Technicians/Registered
Nurses/Nurse Practitioners) who are trained and certified in all aspects of laser
hair removal. In addition, since laser hair removal is the majority of our business,
our staff is highly experienced. This is not something we do on the side; it is the
focus of our internal training and ongoing education.

Does it hurt?
|
Pain tolerance is something that’s unique to every individual, but most people
tolerate the procedure well. Many factors such as the coarseness and density of
the hair, the color and the area being treated affect the sensation. The amount of
energy used can affect this as well. However, the LightSheer diode does help
alleviate some discomfort by providing a chilling system before, during and after
each pulse. For those who are more sensitive, we do have topical anesthetic
available to numb the treatment area and minimize discomfort. During your
consultation, we’ll examine the areas you want treated, review these factors and
discuss your options.

Does it really take
6 treatments?
|
Yes it does. In fact, it is not uncommon for a person to need
more. There are a variety of factors that can influence the total number of
treatments any individual person will need to achieve their desired results. That’s
why we offer multiple options which we will cover during your consultation.

Tell me about the
guarantee(s).
|
Because of the fact that there are so many different factors involved and no one
can accurately predict the exact number of treatments needed to achieve your
desired level of results, we offer a service guarantee with our signature
packages. The guarantee states that if you require additional treatments beyond
your 6th session, we will treat you at no charge. This way, you know up front
what your total cost will be, regardless of the number of treatments that you may
need. During you consultation, we will discuss the guarantee options further and
you can decide what’s right for you.

How long have you been in business?
|
The company was founded in February of 2000. Laser hair removal is a
relatively new technology, and in that short time we have grown to
over 60 locations across the country with new locations opening all the time. We believe
that tremendous growth is a testament to our ethics and the satisfaction of our
patients.

What will I look like / how red will I be after the treatment?
|
Post treatment reactions vary depending on the coarseness, density and color of
the hair and the area being treated. In general terms, most patients experience
redness similar to a mild sunburn.

I have dark skin / I tan – can I be treated?
|
That depends. The melanin content in your skin is one of the factors that we
must consider when determining whether or not you are a good candidate for
laser hair removal. When you come in for your consultation, we’ll examine the
areas you want treated, determine your skin type and discuss your options.
Back to
top |
What about blonde/red/gray hair?
|
The laser energy is attracted to the melanin in your hair. The greater the amount
of melanin, the better the results. White or gray hair does not contain any
melanin, and does not respond to treatments. However, some hair that many
would call blonde or red actually does contain enough melanin to be treatable.
That’s exactly why we offer a complimentary consultation, so we can evaluate
your hair and skin type and discuss your options.

Do I need to grow the hair out before my consultation/treatment?
|
No, in fact we ask that you do shave the area you want treated. We’re actually
treating the follicle below the skin, so the less surface hair the better.
Back to
top |
Do I have to stop bleaching/tweezing/using depilatories, etc?
|
It’s best, but not entirely necessary. After your first treatment, you will experience
a no-growth period in the treated area and will find that it will not be necessary to
bleach/tweeze, etc.
Back to
top |
Why are the treatments spaced as far apart as they are?
|
Our recommended treatment intervals are the product of extensive experience
and research. Having treated thousands of patients, we have refined these
intervals to ensure best results. We do not believe it is ethical to treat during
periods that our experience shows do not yield optimal results. In fact, as an
industry leader, many other providers are now imitating our recommended
intervals.

How long before I see results?
|
You will see some results immediately. It takes a week or two for all of the hair in
the treated area to fall out. After that, you will experience several weeks of no
growth in the treated area. So you’re getting immediate gratification while you
are moving toward your long-term goal.
Back to
top |
Can I get treated the same day as my consultation?
|
We’d be happy to treat you then. Please shave the area to be treated in
preparation for your appointment. You’ll need to allow ½ hour for the
consultation and 15 minutes to one hour for the actual
treatment, depending on the area we are treating.
Back to
top |
I’m taking <MEDICATION>, can I be treated?
|
The only medications that are contraindicated for laser hair removal are
Accutane and Retin-A, which must be discontinued prior to treatment. During
your consultation, we’ll review any medications or supplements that you are
currently taking to help the technician determine the appropriate fluence for your
treatment.
Back to
top |
I’m pregnant / planning on becoming pregnant. Can I still be treated?
|
That depends. Pregnancy restricts the use of topical anesthetics and may
present some other challenges. While there is no evidence to suggest that
pregnant women cannot be treated safely, it is our policy not to treat without
written permission of the patient’s physician. When you come in for your
consultation, we can discuss the particulars of what you would like to have done
and review your options.
